How plans change! This year we were supposed to be returning to the USA for a long anticipated road trip around the Southwest, taking in a multitude of National Parks. Everything was booked, hotels, flights and tours and we were excited about the prospect of returning to our beloved Southwest……However, after the change of government in the USA in 2024, and the increasing reports of problems for people trying to enter the country, we started to think that maybe we’d do better to save that trip for a later date. Soooo, I cancelled all our bookings ( the only cost being a loss of 24,000 Qantas Frequent Flyer points) and we started to wonder… “Where else can we go???”. We briefly toyed with a trip to Eastern Canada but in the end we decided to make a return to New Zealand… It’s 24 years since our last trip there and we really didn’t see all that much so hopefully, in 4 weeks, we would really be able to enjoy the Land of the Long White Cloud.
