Italy or Bust!

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

I have just realised than in all my posts about travel technology, I haven’t yet mentioned one of my favourite little programs – Phantim3  .  Phantim3 is a tiny little program that I’ve used repeatedly over the last 6 years to help build the excitement before a holiday – it’s a countdown clock that sits on my desktop and reminds me how many days, hours, minutes and seconds till we takeoff for our next wonderful trip. For the last 9 months it’s been counting down and we’re now only 11-ish days away from jetting off to beautiful Italy!

Not only will we be breaking ground in a new country ( for us) but this trip is also a major milestone – it’s the first time in 30 years that Neil and I have set off on a extended trip without any children!  Liam will be spending the same period on a school trip to Turkey, Greece and Italy, having a ball without Mum and Dad to tell him what to do.

Italy isn’t a large country ( compared to Australia) but even in 3 weeks we won’t be able to see all of it, however we’ll be making a damn good stab at it. With a mixture of city stays, organised day tours, train travel and road tripping we hope to see the major sites and hopefully some interesting and unexpected ones as well. I’m looking forward to indulging in lots of pasta, pizza, and Prosecco and testing out some of my newer gadgets ( they’ll be in another post!)
